    Zu den Abkürzungen (Quelle), die - noch - nicht im Glossar sind:


    MASCAL = Versorgungsbedarf ≥ Ressourcen (Kräfte + Mittel). Definition: "Mass Casualty". Wenn es mehr Verwundete als medizinische/sanitätsdienstliche Kapazität hat. Eine individualmedizinische Betreuung ist nicht mehr realisierbar. Es wird selektiert, wer Betreuung bekommt und wer nicht. A Mass Casualty (MASCAL) situation is one in which an excessive disparityexists between the casualty load and the medical capacities locally available for itsmanagement. In CROs a MASCAL situation will most likely be the result of accidents(road accident, plane crash, explosions, fire, etc.), hostile actions (guerrilla warfare,bombs, terrorist attack) or natural phenomena (flood, earthquake, etc.). Incidents willmost likely be smaller in scale compared to an Article 5 MASCAL (perhaps with use ofCBRN weapons) situation. (Quelle, S. 1-29)
